Hiʻilei K. Casco was born and raised on Maui and recently completed a B.S. in Environmental and Sustainability Sciences at Cornell University. She is now pursuing a Master’s in Environmental Management (MEM) degree at the University of Hawaiʻi Mānoa. As a Kanaka Maoli scholar, she seeks opportunities to engage in projects that utilize traditional knowledges and pono science to aloha ʻāina. Her passions focus on community and place-based natural resource management, conflict resolution, water, environmental policy, and informal environmental education.
