New Paper in Carbon Management

Our new paper was just published in Carbon Management! The open-access document identifies missing components of the oil palm carbon emissions budget, especially those emissions disconnected from plantations in time or space. For example, fires may escape from oil palm plantations and cause carbon emissions by burning adjacent lands. Burning is currently receiving global attention as Singapore and Malaysia are inundated by smoke from fires in Sumatra, Indonesia, where oil palm plantations are implicated as fire sources.
